Interpretation, Learning and Audience Development
Alix’s experience of the heritage sector is excellent.
She did the HLF Activity Plan for us and this was an extraordinarily thorough document. We know, because HLF told us, that they completely took our bid to pieces looking for anything that didn’t stack up properly and could find nothing!
I am happy to recommend Alix Slater and would feel very confident in working with her again on other projects.Mary Powell
I studied Heritage Interpretation as a postgraduate student, trained as a primary school teacher, have lectured for 20 years, written about audience development and as a consultant developed Interpretation, Learning and Activity Plans. I also volunteered in the Education Department at National Museum Wales and was an Intern with the Interpretation team at the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto.
As well as developing Interpretation Plans, Activity Plans (to support Heritage Lottery Fund applications) and Audience Development Plans and I have also undertaken audits and evaluations of exhibitions, activities and learning programmes.
Recent commissions include: a demand analysis of the potential education market and development of a cross curricula programme for the Emirates Aviation Attraction in Greenwich and Activity Plans for Oldham Heritage & Arts Centre, Darlington Civic Theatre and Archbishop of York’s Palace, Southwell, all of which received Round 2 funding from the HLF.
